The Body’s mission is to use the Web to lower barriers between patients and clinicians, to demystify HIV/AIDS and its treatment, to improve patients’ quality of life, and to foster community through human connection. It provides information on AIDS basics, prevention, testing, diagnosis and treatment; promotes conferences; addresses quality of life issues; and hosts bulletin boards for people to connect with each other and with resources.

 

The National Center for HIV/AIDS, Viral Hepatitis, STD, and TB Prevention (NCHHSTP) is responsible for public health surveillance, prevention research, and programs to prevent and control HIV infection and AIDS, other sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), viral hepatitis, and tuberculosis (TB). Center staff work in collaboration with governmental and nongovernmental partners at community, State, national, and international levels, applying well-integrated multidisciplinary programs of research, surveillance, technical assistance, and evaluation.

AIDS Project Rhode Island

APRI is a nonprofit AIDS Organization whose mission is to provide a non-judgmental and safe environment where people with HIV can access resources to make informed decisions regarding their quality of life, and to stop the transmission of HIV through advocacy, prevention, and education programs. You can call the hotline to find out about HIV prevention, testing, treatment, and legal issues.

BRUNAP is a nationally known center for training researchers and clinicians in AIDS-related disciplines. At this site you can find HIV/AIDS statistics, information about the current picture of the local and global AIDS crisis, reports and guidelines for AIDS treatments, and local testing, counseling and referral sites. BRUNAP also offers a 10 minute informational video on the Rapid HIV Test at their website.

NAMES Project

As a sponsor of the AIDS Memorial Quilt, the NAMES Project provides a creative means for remembrance and healing, illustrates the enormity of the AIDS epidemic, increases public awareness of AIDS and raises funds for community-based AIDS service organizations.

The Adult Industry Medical (AIM) Health Care Foundation is a non-profit corporation formed to care for the physical and emotional needs of sex workers and people who work in the adult entertainment industry through our HIV and STD testing and treatment, our counseling services and our support group programs. We are happy to be serving the sex worker community and our goal is to provide health care for the body, mind, emotion and spirit, as well as to take a leadership position in promoting safe and responsible sexual behavior, not only for the adult entertainment industry, but for everyone.
