PARTICIPANTS

Who should apply?

People choose to participate in FemSex for a variety of reasons. Some have heard about it through their friends, classmates, or neighbors or heard that we are consistently among the top ten things to do while living in Providence or before leaving Brown. Others come by us via our website. However you came, we’re glad you did! And we hope you come again, and again, and again.

FemSex is open to individuals of all genders and sexualities. Those not affiliated with Brown/RISD are encouraged to participate.

Attendance at an info session is mandatory in order to apply for the workshop!

Email femsex@gmail.com for more information or with any questions you may have.

When to apply?

There is a new round of applications at the beginning of every semester.  The next round will be in the first week of February, 2010.  Look around campus for flyers, tableslips and posters.  Also check back here for more information as we get closer to the beginning of the semester.

How to apply?

First, you must attend one of our information sessions.  This is to make sure that you have as full an idea of what the program is and if you have the time to make the commitment during the upcoming semester.  During the information session the current facilitators will introduce themselves, run through a brief history of the program, describe the aspects of the workshop that make FemSex such a unique and invaluable space on campus, and give a quick overview of the continually evolving curriculum.
Second, at the end of the info session a written application will be handed out to be completed and handed in at the end of the session.  There are two parts to the application, the first asks participants to evaluate their discussion styles and the second is a free response.  Facilitators use the applications to select participants and to build classes, so it is extremely important that applicants fill out the application to the best of their ability as it is our first and only impression of potential FemSexies as we are arranging the sections.
We accept community members and Brown students alike without regard to race, color, sexual orientation, gender, religion or national origin.
